Documenting perfluorooctane sulfonate-free fire-extinguishing foam on board — guidance for first safety equipment survey after 1 January 2026
At the first safety equipment survey conducted after 1 January 2026, all fire-extinguishing foam on board must be free of perfluorooctane sulfonate compounds and this must be verified by the attending surveyor — failure to comply may result in a part-held survey or a Condition of Authority.
